The election is over. The candidates you supported may have won or lost. Some shout victory, others mourn, while a few important races remain undecided. However, whatever the outcome of the election, of this I’m sure. God is still on the throne. It may not feel like it, but He remains in control.
Leaders come and go. This is our reality. Even though we’re stressed, we need not panic that the end of the world is near. This present political cycle is a mere sentence in the book of human history. God sits outside of time, viewing the whole. Nothing is a surprise to Him.
Nevertheless, we do have choices in this country. We have the right to elect our officials and should not take this freedom for granted. Our votes matter. But, even if the candidate of your choice wasn’t elected, all is not lost. Whatever the outcome, God takes every circumstance and works good through it.
We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.

In the Book of Daniel, the situation was dire for the Hebrew people. The Babylonians ransacked their country and took Daniel and his friends, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego into exile. They were among the brightest and the best of their generation. They surely felt that all their dreams were dashed when they were taken by force from Judah. What good could come from this?
Daniel survived the reign of numerous kings and outlived his captors. These tempestuous rulers threw Daniel into a lion’s den and his friends into a fiery furnace. God delivered them through all these trials. Daniel maintained his integrity throughout the trying times. The record of his life and legacy are available for all to read.
So, whatever the outcome of this election and all those to come, don’t allow the uncertainty to deter you. Live a life of integrity like Daniel in spite of the challenges. Love your neighbor. Do what is right. God will work good from your efforts. You can count on it.
Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom. At this, the administrators and satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.
